This Sunday as we continue our series in the epistle of first John; our study leads us to chapter 2 verse 1. Here John continues to speak on the topic of sin and forgiveness of sin and guilt. He now moves from a more general level (“if we say…”) in verses 5-10 of chapter 1 to a more personal, direct address to “my little children.” He is concerned that they see the seriousness of sin (“that ye sin not”), but if you do sin – “we have an advocate….” This is an important point that carries a very important picture I want to illustrate for you Sunday morning…
