Serious Sin, Life giving Prayer (1 John 5:16-17)

Stephen Weaver, June 12, 2016
Part of the 1 John series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

This Sunday morning we return to our verse by verse study in the epistle of 1 John. We will be speaking on chapter 5 verses 16-17. John here gives an example of what he had been talking about in the previous verses; an example of what believers can pray for. When another believer falls into sin, John says that a fellow believer can pray for that person to be delivered from that sin. Sin is so serious (as he speaks of a “sin unto death”) that he wants the believers to know that they should be praying for one another. There are a number of other truths we can learn from this passage which we will talk about Sunday morning.
