The Example of Humility (Part 2) (Philippians 2:9-11)
Stephen Weaver, January 1, 1970Part of the Philippians series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
This Sunday, as we are continuing our series studying the book of Philippians, we are looking at chapter 2 verses 5-11. Last week we spoke of Paul encouraging these Philippian believers to look out for the interests of others. Now he gives an example, the ultimate example of humility and doing for others. The example is Christ humbling, emptying Himself to come and take on our flesh in order that He may become “obedient unto death,” and die on the cross for our sins. Now this week we will look specifically at 9-11 looking at how it was God who lifted up and exalted Jesus! More on this Sunday morning…
