Overcoming Despair (Psalm 119:81-88)

Stephen Weaver, October 11, 2015
Part of the Psalm 119 series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

This Sunday we continue our series in Psalm 119, looking at verses 81-88 – this is the halfway mark of the psalm. In this section the theme of affliction on the psalmist continues. However now is the darkest section, where the singer is very low to the point of despair. He describes his low feelings in the majority of these 8 verses. People, Christians can get very low at times, and need help. Where do they turn? Where should they turn? The pain of trials and problems are very real in all people’s lives. That’s what I want to talk about Sunday. Give hope and answer some questions about these times. More on this Sunday morning…
