Sacrifices & The Lord's Supper (Hebrews 13:9-16)

Part of the Communion series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

This Sunday morning, we will have a special communion service. We will be looking at Hebrews 13:9-16, and talking about Sacrifices and the Lord’s Supper. I want us to look briefly at how the Old Testament dealt with sin and how the sacrifices were a substitute for the offenders sin. It was a very detailed, difficult, and frankly gross process the priests and sinner had to go through; until Christ came and ultimately, once for all, paid for the sins of the whole world. And that is what we celebrate each time we take the Lord’s supper. Remembering what Christ did for us on the cross of Calvary; He was our substitute! Oh what mercy, oh what grace. The passage also talks about 2 sacrifices that we can offer today to God. I’ll share them and more on this Sunday morning…
