A Great Repentance (Jonah 3:4-8)

Part of the Jonah series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

This Sunday morning, we continue our series on the book of Jonah. We are in chapter 3 looking at verses 4-8. Here we have one of the greatest altar calls in history as Jonah’s brief, powerful message is reaching the hearts of the wicked Ninevites. They not only repent and believe, but also show evidences that they truly believe. Their belief is shown in their actions of fasting (even their animals) and mourning in sackcloth and sitting in ashes. Makes me wonder if people really know and understand what repentance really is and means. We’ll talk about it this Sunday morning…
