Honor Your Mother & Father (Exodus 20:12)

This Sunday, Mother’s Day, we will be doing a message on the 5th commandment from Exodus 20:12. This would normally be a Sunday evening series message, that we will do in the morning for this special Sunday. In this 5th commandment we are told to honor our fathers and mothers. What does it mean to honor our mothers? And further, what about those mothers and fathers that lead abusive, neglectful, broken homes that are filled with sinful behavior like favoritism and verbal/emotional abuse? Does this commandment mean we have to honor those parents? What if you’re a parent of kids that don’t honor you? What can you do? We will answer these questions and more this Sunday morning…
