A Frustrated Pharisee (John 7:1-52)

Stephen Weaver, August 25, 2019
Part of the John series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

This Sunday morning, we continue our series in the gospel of John. We will be looking at chapter 7 all 53 verses. We will cover this text by having a 1st century Pharisee come and tell the story, and explain the drama that is happening in chapter 7 particularly among the religious leaders. There is much frustration on their part on many levels. Their goal and purpose is to secretly arrest and kill Jesus, but they fail in doing this over and over. The reason they are unsuccessful is because God is sovereignly in control and nothing happens unless He wills it. I imagine we can learn a lot hearing firsthand from a very frustrated Pharisee Sunday morning…
