Cleopas' Story (Luke 24:13-43)

Stephen Weaver, April 8, 2012
Part of the Sunday Morning Service series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

This Resurrection Sunday we look forward to remembering Christ’s power over death as the grave could not hold him, but for 3 partial days. As I was thinking of what passage of scripture we could study on this Easter Sunday morning I was drawn to the passage in Luke 24:13-43 where the two followers of Jesus are returning to their home in Emmaus, approximately 7 miles from Jerusalem. In reading this passage again I was amazed at the details Luke shares about their story. I thought: “what if one of these men came to our church this Sunday and told his story from his own lips? I think it would sound something like this…” Come this Sunday morning to hear Cleopas’ story.
